Reading A-Z is an educational product offered through the educational technology company, Learning A-Z, which offers many literacy resources in addition to Reading A-Z, such as Raz Kids, Raz-Plus, Headsprout, Science A-Z, Writing A-Z, Vocabulary A-Z, and ELL Edition. Reading A-Z provides more than 2,000 books at 29 levels of reading difficulty about high-interest topics and thousands of down-loadable, projectable, and printable teaching materials, such as lesson plans, worksheets, discussion cards for text dependent questions, and comprehension quizzes, are available to support teachers in differentiating and scaffolding reading materials to enable students to tackle more complex texts.

The multilevel nonfiction texts on a topic, such as Earthquakes, Volcanoes, and Tsunamis allows all students to investigate and to participate in content discussions around the same essential question and learn the same academic vocabulary, while having the content presented at appropriate reading levels. Books and a collection of graphic organizers, such as text characteristic charts that dig below the content to examine text structure, may be projected on a white board to allow teachers to model the skills and strategies necessary for close reading.

In addition, Reading A-Z supports teachers in the CCSS implementation with a Common Core State Standards “landing page;” answers to frequently asked questions surrounding the CCSS; and printable, projectable, online and interactive resources that can help in the implementation of the CCSS; and samples of how to combine the provided texts and the standards for effective instruction.

Online reports provide instant feedback that help determine instructional effectiveness and inform future instruction needs, but tracking students’ progress digitally requires an upgrade to the developer's other products, requiring a fee increase from the $109.95 annual fee.
