Overview
Screencast-O-Matic is a screen capture tool that allows educators to easily create, edit, and communicate with videos and images. The free recorder can be launched within various internet browsers from the Screencast-O-Matic site. The free recorder does not allow for computer audio to be recorded, only voiceovers. Videos created with Screencast-O-Matic can be used for flipped/blended learning, video conversations, student assignments, and more. Installation is quick and easy.
Free Features
Screen Recording
This program is incredibly user-friendly, making voiceovers a breeze for demos, content lessons, and tutorials. Opt to use the webcam so viewers can see the presenter. Time limit: 15 minutes.
Video Editing
Screencast-O-Matic makes it easy to trim videos for smooth video editing. Turn your screen into a blackboard with highlighter, pen, and text feature. There is also an option for closed captions and choice of three provided music tracks.
Upload Videos
Once the video is recorded, simply click done then a prompt will give you options as to what to do next. You can download as an .MP4 and save it to your computer, upload it to youtube.com, etc.
