Overview

ST Math [1] is a game based website that provides a unique personalized journey to its user. A penguin character named JiJi advances along his journey and overcomes obstacles by way of positive completion of a math puzzle by the user. Through visual learning and object manipulation the user is able to connect the conceptual ideas to the math formulas. Users must master the level they are currently on before they are able to access the next level in a math sequence. Mistakes are addressed immediately with a visual representation of why the error occurred. This process allows users to learn visually and immediately from their mistake and then be able to correct the error. The puzzles that users are confronted with have no language incorporated into them. This allows ST Math to be accessible to students of different languages and reading capabilities.

MIND Research Institute is a research based non-profit organization co-founded by Dr. Gordon Shaw, Dr. Matthew Peterson, and Dr. Mark Bodner. The name "ST Math" comes from the Institute's patented approach to learning using the brain's innate Spatial-Temporal reasoning to solve math problems.
