Overview

Minecraft is a casual video game developed by Mojang and distributed by Microsoft. The game focuses on collection and usage of various materials across the game's procedurally generated worlds. Minecraft is currently availble in three editions across multiple platforms. Java edition only available on PC, Bedrock edition available on PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo 3DS, and Nintendo Wii U. As well as Mobile available on both IOS and Android.

Gameplay

Minecraft uses the creation of tools and building materials from raw materials to progress in game. For example harvesting tress to break down into planks and sticks which can be used to make wooden tools or build wooden structures. The game is considered sandbox in nature and has no endgame or story progression. Players may choose to play in any style they prefer and create their own goals. The game also contains a creative mode with al materials available in unlimited quantities without the need of gathering. Enemies also do not spawn in this game mode nor does the player take damage.

Educational Mode

Minecraft also introduced a classroom version accessible from all standard version starting in 2015. The mode features many new tools and machines that players can create and experiment with such as industrial farming techniques.
