Overview

Flocabulary is an online library of songs, videos, and activities that promotes an engaging style of learning about a variety of subjects. Flocabulary uses hip-hop music and creative raps songs to introduce topics and current events to engage students. Videos and activities are organized by subject and are Common Core aligned. After each video, there are relevant lessons and activities to promote the retention and mastery of each subject.

  • Current Events

Educators are able to access lesson plans created by Flocabulary for specific topics and are able to assign students homework or assignments within the website. Flocabulary also offers educators guidelines on how to adapt curriculums to incorporate content from Flocabulary. The online resource is available on a subscription basis and has a free 30 day trial available.

History

Flocabulary was founded in 2004 by Blake Harrison and Alex Rappaport as a way to introduce and review vocabulary words. Today, Flocabulary’s online library reaches millions of students and is shared in more than 20,000 schools.
