Overview

Feedly is an app that is driven by the power of RSS (Real Simple Syndication). I believe that Feedly can be the cornerstone of a Personal or Professional Learning Network PLN. According to Torry Trust, a PLN is a "system of interpersonal connections and resources that support informal learning."[1] Feedly helps make this a reality because it is a newsreader that pulls stories from websites, blogs, or anything that contains an RSS feed (which is almost every website on the internet). Feedly can be accessed through an internet browser or by installing an app onto a tablet or smartphone. The real beauty of Feedly lies in the ability to categorize the different feeds into a variety of topical sections. Feedly keeps track of what you have read and syncs that across all of the devices so that you can start reading articles on one device and then pick up to continue on another device. Feedly also provides the ability to save articles to read later and is compatible with many other applications for saving or sharing articles. Feedly is also compatible with IFTTT in order to set up simple automation like saving an article to Pinterest everytime it is bookmarked within the Feedly app.
