Overview
BrainPOP is a cross-curricular animated movies, learning games, interactive quizzes, primary source activities, and additional resources for students in grades 3+. Topics span from Science, Social Studies, English, Math, Engineering & Tech, Health, and Arts & Music. BrainPOP is also home to GameUp, an educational games portal for the classroom; Make-a-Map, our a concept mapping tool; and the “My BrainPOP” suite of features, which lets teachers keep track of learning, customize assessment, incorporate gaming into instruction, and provide feedback on learning artifacts. There is some free content but is mostly a subscription based site/app.
History
BrainPOP was created in 1999 by Dr. Avraham Kadar and initially only included resources on health. By 2001 BrainPOP expanded to Math, English, and Social Studies, then in 2006 BrainPOP Jr was added for K-3.
